On the evening of April 1st, 2026, the energy in our city was absolutely electric. The Hamilton business community gathered at Carmen’s Banquet Centre for a night dedicated to local excellence, shared vision, and the entrepreneurial spirit that makes our city so vibrant. It was the 42nd Annual Outstanding Business Achievement Awards (OBAA) Gala, the premier event hosted by the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce. With over 650 business owners, community advocates, and local leaders in attendance, it was the largest celebration in the Chamber’s long history.
For our local security company, Open Road Systems Inc., the evening was a defining moment in our journey and a deeply meaningful milestone. We are incredibly proud, humbled, and overjoyed to announce that Open Road Systems Inc. was awarded the prestigious Small Business of the Year Award for 2026.
Our Journey: Rooted in Hamilton Since 2015
Open Road Systems Inc. was established in 2015 with a single desk in a basement, a laptop, and a clear vision to provide dependable, high-quality security services and solutions to our community.
Over the years, our small operation has progressed steadily. Through long hours, client recommendations, and the unwavering support of our local partners, we outgrew that basement and transitioned into the commercial space we operate from today.
While the physical walls around us have changed dramatically since those early days, our foundational philosophy has remained exactly the same. We still believe in delivering reliable home and commercial security solutions with the absolute highest levels of care, accountability, and respect. For us, security is about building community and ensuring that every local business and family home is protected as if it were our very own.
